2008 California campaign – Protect WMA funding!
Funding for the state’s Weed Management Area program has survived budget cuts so far — let’s keep it that way. In 2006 and 2007, funding was reinstated because over 100 organizations sent letters to the Legislature for AB 2479 and SB 311. Let’s get even more in 2008! Here’s how:
- 1) modify the sample letter (Word) and print on your organization’s letterhead.
- 2) fax and mail to the contacts listed with the sample letter.
- 3) consider sending the letter to representatives from your area, too.
Early in the calendar year is ideal, but sending letters anytime is useful!
2008 Federal campaign
Cal-IPC works with partners in California and nationwide to advocate for federal positions that enhance wildland weed work. Attendees at the 2008 NIWAW will visit the Hill to advocate for the positions below. You can help by sending letters to key legislators on these issues.
- 1) Support S. 1949 (Reid), the 100th Meridian Invasive Species Revolving Loan Fund
